Why
the Rabbits Have Short Tails
Long ago. Rabbits were very cute and had
long long tail. That all changed because of a greedy little rabbit.
One day, a little rabbit saw fresh
vegetables across the river, but he couldn't swim.
When he saw a crocodile, he came up with an
idea. The rabbit said “Poor crocodile! Why don’t you have any friends?”
The crocodile was upset to hear this. So he
shouted. “Who said that I don’t have any friends? I do have lots of friends!”
Yet the rabbit said in purpose. “ I won’t believe you unless you can prove it.”
The crocodile dived into the water and
called ring~ for his friends. After a while, lots of crocodiles lined up on the
river, The crocodile said proudly, “See, I am charming and popular.”
But the smart rabbit said, “Wait! I need to
count. One 1, two 2, three 3, four 4, five 5….” As he counted, he hopped toward
the other side of the river.
“Ha! Ha! Ha! Fool crocodiles. All I want is
enjoying the fresh vegetables! Who cares about silly crocodiles?!”
Suddenly, the crocodile who was nearest the
rabbit jumped up and bit the rabbits long tail!
The rabbit pulled and pulled, and luckily
he ran away from the furious crocodiles.
When the rabbit got home, his short broken
tail become popular in surprise.
As a result, the other rabbits tired their
best to get a short tail just like his.
That is why, all rabbits nowadays have
short tails.
