UGLY
PATT
PATT wasn't a pretty girl.
At school, some naughty boys always made
fun of her.
Among all these boys, Will was the tallest
and strongest. He told everyone if they interacted with Patt, they'd become
ugly too. Therefore, nobody wanted to make friends with her, because they didn't
want to become “ugly Patt's ugly friend.”
However, there was someone that talked to
Patt everyday, the milkman. His name was Angelo, which meant “ the messenger of
God” in Italian
Every day after Patt left the house for
school, she said hello to the milkman who was busily delivering milk from house
to house. He was friendly and nice.
You can say that Angelo was Patt's best and
only friend. But everything was about to change…
This day, Patt put on her best dress and
even wore make-up and perfume for school. She had decided that she wanted to be
beautiful and perfect. She couldn't stand the solitude and the mocking any
more.
When she finally finished dressing she
contently opened the door, and saw Angelo.
Much to her surprise. Angelo didn't say
anything to her. He couldn't recognize Patt with all her mascara and lipstick.
Patt was very sad about this. She took a
bottle of milk with her and rushed to the school bus.
As she'd expected, everyone at school was
crazy about her. Not know she was actually Patt, they thought she was a
transfer student, giving her the name “New Beauty.”
Although she was now popular, Patt was
still sad about the milkman's reaction. Of course she wanted to be accepted,
but she wanted her best friend more.
She took a look at her milk. A sentence was
some how written on the bottle: YOU ARE PERFECT BEING YOUR SELF. LOVE WHO YOU
ARE.
Patt smiled. She didn't forget that “Angelo”
meant “ the messenger of God.”
Patt wasn't a pretty girl.
But she loved that about herself. She'd
never tired to change who she was ever again.
